Current Work

I work in five overlapping ways.

Directing and producing: I direct large-scale events, theatre and immersive work, and support and curate programmes across all art forms.

Creative learning: I work with schools and young people, help steer and deliver international engagement projects, mentor creatives, and guest lecture for universities and leadership programmes.

Artistic advice: I help cultural institutions think clearly about programming, commissioning, growing their networks, and the relationship between what they do and who they do it for.

Strategy: I work with boards, chief executives, artistic directors and executive teams at moments of transition: new leadership, new premises, new funding realities. I tend to be most useful at the start, when the ambition is being set, and at the end, when it has to be delivered on time and on budget.

Speaking and facilitation: I speak to companies in and outside the arts about creative leadership and what it takes to make ambitious things happen in complex organisations.

Ongoing and recent collaborators include London International Festival of Theatre, Powerhouse International Festival and En Garde Arts in New York, La Mecànica in Spain, Grec Festival Barcelona, World Cities Culture Forum, Resonate Productions in Amsterdam, London's Royal Docks, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Charleston Gaillard Center in South Carolina, and Ithra in Saudi Arabia.
