The National Theatre, on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, is one of the world’s foremost performing arts venues. Home to three auditoriums - the Olivier, Lyttelton, and Dorfman theatres - as well as vibrant public spaces that host an array of events. Through extensive touring and digital broadcasts via NT Live, it reaches audiences worldwide.
Jonathan founded and led a new department under Trevor Nunn and then Nicholas Hytner, transforming the National Theatre's community engagement and public artistic spaces. He launched and ran festivals including Watch This Space, "one of London's most vibrant festivals" (Time Out). In 2002 he co-wrote and directed a production of Robin Hood staged in the Loft Theatre starring Maxine Peake and Mark Bonnar reviewed by The Times as "**** a thrilling, very funny adventure."
